COVID-19 Coronavirus – Company update

02nd Apr 2020

With the UK and most of Western Europe now in a state of lockdown as a result of the COVID-19 coronavirus, we are continuing to provide ships agency services at all of our port locations in these challenging times.

In order to maintain our operations we have followed contingency plans put in place mid-March and now have a significant number of employees working from home, whilst still maintaining an active staff presence at all offices. We are continuing to follow government health instructions to keep our employees well protected and safe, our current safety measures include:

o Essential/skeleton staff only now working in each office/department. Office workers are supported remotely by team members working from home on a rotation basis.

o Continued regular cleaning and sanitising is taking place at all offices with employees strictly following hand washing regimes.

o Ships Agents are working closely with local port/terminal staff to reduce the number of visits onboard vessels to an absolute minimum in accordance with Masters’ instructions.

We are constantly being asked about the current situation relating to COVID-19 for individual ports, especially in the UK; Are ports are closed? Are quarantine restrictions in place? Are crew changes permitted?

Our Research Department is compiling detailed port reports covering UK & ARA ports, updated and sent on a daily basis.

Please contact us on [email protected] if you have any questions relating to how the coronavirus is affecting work in UK/ARA ports and/or if you would like to receive our daily COVID-19 port updates.
